From the A1 North or South take exit 49 off the A1M at Dishforth Interchange onto the A168 signposted for York/A19, Scarborough/A170 and coast. Turn off A168 at A19 junction and take first exit from the roundabout, following the A170 signs. At next roundabout turn right onto A170 and follow this up Sutton Bank and through Helmsley to Kirkbymoorside. In Kirkbymoorside turn left at the roundabout into the main street and up the hill to a mini roundabout. Turn Left again and follow the road into Gillamoor – about 2.5 miles. At the village green in Gillamoor turn right and Hen House Cottage is on the right just before the church with a sign outside. Pull into the drive in front of the cottage. We are at Church View next door (with black iron railings).
From the A64 take the A169 to Pickering. In Pickering turn Left at the roundabout onto the A170 signposted for Helmsley.
